Ethiopian Food

Sometime Last year I was presented the opportunity to eat Ethiopian food. I forgot the name of the restaurant I went to in San Francisco but they had great Ethiopian food. The way the food was presented reminded me somewhat of Indian food by the looks of some of the items. Also the fact that they give you so much on the plate that it is usually shared between 2-3 people cause it is so much food.

When I went, a couple of friends and I shared Gomen which kind of looks like a spinach/ kale dish but it is actually fried up collard greens. It was a little spicy but tasted great with the injera or Ethiopian bread. We had a few other dishes with the meal but I don't remember what they were called. One was a spicy lentil mash, there was another section of spicy lamb, and a spicy beef dish. They were all really great and I hadn't expected so many flavors from all of the different dishes. If you've never had Ethiopian food I encourage you to find a place and go with a few people. The atmosphere is nice and you'll get to experience food from a different continent.

Attack at Egypt Mosque

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/27/middleeast/egypt-sinai-mosque-massacre-witnesses/index.html Friday the 18th became a devastating day for over 300 Egyptians that were practicing their religion in Egypt's al Rawda Mosque. Five SUV's had appeared at the mosque before the killing spree had taken place. Later the attackers stepped out with large guns and dressed in army fatigues before piling into  the mosque and opened fire over the victims for about an hour. These men have been described in affiliation with terrorist group ISIS due to some of the attackers wearing the symbol that represents ISIS. This devastating event did not end until men from Egypt's army travelled to the scene to stop the historical massacre, but in the process of doing so many were killed from running out of ammo. Slaves in Libya

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/21/africa/un-security-council-libya-slave-trade/index.html Recently there was a leak on CNN of the slave auctions happening in Libya. The video shows 12 Nigerians being priced at 400 Libyan daughters then sold to their anonymous buyer. Protests have been going on in Paris where many people are reacting to the news. Because of the leak, the United Nations security council called a meeting about the travesties happening in Libya. So far men that represent the UN have spoken up about the issue, and there is an investigation going on but, there aren't any laws that have been created to defeat what's going on. This auction is also happening in nine other places in Libya. Even though it is still in investigation, the UN is becoming more secure about their human trafficking and slavery laws. The slavery crimes happening in Libya currently are persuading other countries on laws of immigration and allowing immigrants to migrate into their areas.
